The Bondy Bait is an exciting new hand made musky lure designed for vertical jigging in big rivers, such as the St.Clair, Niagara, Detroit, and St.Lawrence Rivers. Some anglers are also pitching it up to the base of weedlines, and ripping it out, with tremendous success. It can also be used for deep striped bass, and has many salt water applications. When after musky, Jon Bondy rigs this 7 oz soft plastic bait on an 7 1/2' Ugly Stik Lite rod (model # CAM 1176 1H) with 65-80 lb Shakespeare Ugly Braid braided line, tied to a 12" 80 lb steel leader. The technique Jon employs involves drifting down river while hopping the bait 2-3 ft off the bottom and letting it fall back down on a tight line, similar to river walleye fishing. Do not let it free fall or drag the bottom, and focus on what you are doing.
